Who We Are

Formally known as the Birmingham Craft Mafia, Birmingham Crafters is the new legal issue free site for all crafters based in and around, or hailing from the Midlands.

I've always wanted to get involved in a variety of craft meet-ups and often scour the net looking for great new projects to try my hand at.  Birmingham seems to have the odd craft group but if your not interested in knitting, cross stitch, and cardmaking (not that theres anything wrong with these) you'll have a

hard time finding like minded people.

What We Want to Do

I decided it was about time that we created a crafting community for Birmingham and the Midlands, as there doesn't seem to be one.  My aim is to get together a group of likeminded people who want to craft allsorts, learn new skills, and get together for a good natter.

Regardless of ability, talent, or age, I want you to have you 10 pence worth, and reach out to the crafting community.  Too long has the crafting world been dominated with the WI and O.A.P stereotype (and may there good work and teaching tecniques live on) now's the time to introduce others to the true nature of underground craft.

As you can see from the menu, this page has space for pictures and videos, and I'd love to show off some of the great work going on in the Midlands at the moment.  All work will be watermarked when placed on the site, and you will be directly linked to.  If you're interested drop me a message through the contact form or at

I'd love to get a couple of projects on the go, perhaps a zine, or blog about the Midlands craft scene.  So if anyone is interested please get in contact.  I have no intention to rule this with an iron fist I'd love to have some creative imput from others.
